For my entire life, II always knew I wanted to be in music. It didn't matter what I was learning or what I heard, I was just always curious. That curiousity led me on a journey that has lasted my entire life. I moved from New Orleans to Denver to major in music business while attending college. I made so much music with others by recording vocals or collaborating, often deciding I preferred anonymity in my music. And then, one moment I just realized the one thing I hadn't done in my life with music was make something that truly meant something to me...
LAST YEAR...
This past year, I've focused on myself in ways I knew I needed to in order to let my happiness heal, but didn't realize how much of it was leading up to a huge change for not only myself, but for the life and family I'd built in Denver. One of the main things I was doing was I was trying to discover exactly who I was, and quite often, I was channeling that need through writing and connecting with my Denver community.
THIS YEAR...
Well, this is the first year I released a solo album and had full control over my project without input. This album is the first of many that feel like I'm speaking my truth.
However, this is also the last year... This is the last year I'm going to be sharing that journey with the place I've called home for over a decade. I can't wait to see what the next place I'll call home holds for me, but I'm not rushing leaving just yet.
